Airbnb, Inc. was founded in 2008 in San Francisco, and serves as a marketplace for tourists and locals to search and find a space to stay for one or more nights, according to their website.

Rutgers offers wealth of opportunities for commuting students
Rutgers is going the distance in accommodating both commuters and residential students with their college experiences. New Brunswick is located between New York City and Philadelphia, two major cities. With school housing and public transportation access, it makes sense that the University's students are made up of both commuters and non-commuters.

Rutgers Olympic Weightlifting Club teaches students proper lifting techniques
Students are lifting their weight with a club-training program offered on campus. Rutgers has offered an Olympic Weightlifting Club to students, alumni and faculty on campus for several years now. The purpose of the club is to teach members how to properly perform lifting techniques and exercises.

Rutgers is providing students with a cheat code to help find out "The Meaning of Video-Gaming." Rutgers has been offering a course that aims to find the relationships between gamers and their video games for about five years now. The Byrne seminar offers first-year students an insight as to why video games are “so enthralling,” said Paul McLean, an associate professor and chair of the Department of Sociology.

Even with heavy stress brought on by piling assignments and exams, Rutgers still finds a way to soothe its students. The University partnered with New York University fitness guru Jordan Friedman’s program about four years ago, said Anne Finetto, assistant director of Fitness and Wellness at Livingston Recreation Center.

Rutgers alumnus, entrepreneur opens catering company
It was a happy new year for a Rutgers alumnus as he opened his own food venture earlier this year. Chutney Chefs is a catering company that delivers pre-prepared meals to homes the day they are ordered, where customers can cook the authentic Indian food themselves. Akhil Shah, a 24-year old Rutgers Business School alumnus and founder of Chutney Chefs, said he got the idea to start his venture during the summer of last year, when his mother cooked Indian food for him when he would come home from work.

Students discuss how they consume news
There is a distinct difference among generations and where they consume the news. Newspapers, television and radio are all considered traditional media outlets. Social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and online newspapers all fall under the digital media outlet umbrella. A recent Pew Research study found that Facebook, a digital media outlet, was a main source of news information for today’s college students.

Deciding on a place to meet a friend can sometimes be challenging, and choosing a midpoint location can be even more difficult. MidWayz is a growing app created by Rutgers students that is looking to solve this dilemma. The app helps find restaurants, bars and local hangouts at the midpoint between you and a friend.

Privileged students are not often aware how fortunate they are. One workshop sought to change that. After the three rounds at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, the Rutgers men’s golf team finished for a combined 919 (301-308-310), which was good for 11th place out of 13 teams at the University Ridge Golf Course. In Drew, Mets Won’t Find The Answer They Need
Put yourself in Stephen Drew’s shoes. Drew is coming off a mediocre season, in which he posted a .253 batting average with 13 home runs and 67 RBIs. He also struggled during the post-season, where he only managed to hit .111 AVG, one home run, and four RBIs. That isn’t exactly contributing. However, he is a solid fielder at the shortstop position and made some highlight plays throughout the season.

Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to learn how I could incorporate journalistic and designing skills to compliment each other. I am continuing to learn and sharpen my versatility that allows me to multitask between the two fields.

I strive to give the best effort in whichever field of work I am involved in. Currently I am working towards a B.A. in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Digital Communication, Information and Media at Rutgers University. I am working towards becoming a sports multimedia reporter someday, who also has background with graphic design.

As highlighted by some of my experience with writing, I am doing everything I can to achieve my goal. I am currently a contributing writer for The Daily Targum—the second oldest daily national collegiate newspaper. I have been building my experience with radio broadcasting at WRSU Rutgers - New Brunswick as well, as I believe it increases my diversity and skills.

Given my diverse and unique background with these fields, the skills I learned give me the opportunity to developed creativity. I am motivated, a quick learner, and eager to make the best out of every opportunity I can get.
